You may feel warmth during treatment, but it is well tolerated and needs no downtime — you can wear shoes and carry on as normal.
Will the fungal infection come back?
Laser greatly reduces the infection, but reinfection is possible without good foot and nail hygiene. We will advise on aftercare to keep nails clear long-term.
Is laser nail treatment safe?
Yes — the laser targets the nail and the fungus beneath it without cutting or medication, so it avoids the liver-function monitoring that oral antifungals require. You will feel warmth and occasional brief pinpricks of heat. The nail may look temporarily discoloured as it grows out. We take particular care with diabetic clients and anyone with reduced circulation or neuropathy in the feet, where any foot treatment needs a lower threshold for caution — tell us at consultation so the treatment is adapted or, where appropriate, referred.
